London Irish Community Get Dirty in the Fight against Cancer
On the 13th June, members of the London Irish community will take part in the Pretty Muddy Cancer Research obstacle course. A group of women have come together to participate in the event to raise funds for, not only, Cancer Research but also St Lukeâs Hospice and the Lymphoma Association. The course will see these women work together to navigate around obstacle whilst knee deep in mud.
The group have also organised a fundraising event that same evening in Flynnâs Bar in West Ealing. There will be an array of prizes to be raffled and a silent auction with high profile donations up for grabs. The Monday Club will provide the entertainment for the evening.
Sharon Lavell, Mayo native and event organiser said; âI decided to organise this event as cancer is an issue that is very close to my heart. As a community, we have seen many of our family and friends struck down by the illness. It is important that we come together to show support to our loved ones and fundraise for much need money for these worthy organisations. The evening event in West Ealing is open to everyone and would like to see a strong turnout for the Monday Club. They have kindly volunteered their time to participate in the fundraiser. You can also still register for the Pretty Muddy event in Hammersmith by visiting the Cancer Research Race for Life website. We would like to thank the people who have helped us so far.â
