London GAA Football and Hurling Finals to be broadcast LIVE on IRISH TV
The 2014 London Football and Hurling GAA Finals will be broadcast live for the first time ever on IRISH TV this coming weekend from Ruislip. The hurling final between Kilburn Gaels and Sean Treacys on Saturday and the football decider on Sunday between arch rivals Tír Chonaill Gaels and Fulham Irish will air on the IRISH TV channel on SKY TV channel 191, Freesat 400, All Free to Air Boxes, Eircom’s eVision and online at irishtv.ie

Commenting ahead of the broadcast London GAA Chairperson Noel O’Sullivan said he was delighted that IRISH TV would be bringing the games to a global audience. “We have worked with IRISH TV over the past two years and we are thrilled that they have decided to broadcast the two GAA finals LIVE. This is a phenomenal opportunity to showcase the outstanding work of all the GAA clubs in London and especially to showcase our ambitious plans for the development of Ruislip and the GAA in the city,” commented O’Sullivan.

The LIVE broadcast both days from 5.00pm to 7.00pm on the IRISH TV on SKY TV channel 191 will include indepth analysis and discussion with expert commentary from a host of GAA stars. The LIVE show will also look at the dedication of the GAA clubs in the city and also explore the recent immigrant trends to the UK.

IRISH TV head of programming Malachi Cush said the broadcast was an important first for IRISH TV. “We have an excellent relation with the GAA at home and abroad and we felt it would be fitting to highlight the outstanding contribution that overseas clubs make in connecting the entire GAA family,” he said.
IRISH TV has also recently launched a brand new GAA show called Mad For Sam which looks at the build up to the penultimate stages of the Football Championship. The channel also covers GAA club events from across the country on their weekly County Matters series.

IRISH TV is dedicated to covering local stories and broadcasting them to a global audience. The channel has two UK offices in London and Manchester which both deliver a weekly show that connects the Global Irish Disapora with home.

The hurling final will be LIVE on Saturday from 5.00pm to 7.00pm with the football decider LIVE on Sunday from 5.00pm to 7.00pm.
