St. Joseph's GAA Club London Club Notes

02 January 2012

Happy New Year

St. Joseph's GAA Club would like to wish a very happy and healthy New Year to all our players and members both past and present, management, supporters and sponsors. Bliain nua faoi mhaise dhaoibh! This year is a special one for the club as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary. We have many events planned throughout 2012, so please keep an eye out for further details.

2012 AGM

The 2012 AGM / Players' Meeting will be held on Sunday, 15 January, at 7pm in the Visitation Centre, Greenford (http://www.rcdow.org.uk/greenford/). All players, management and members are kindly requested to attend. Potential new members are also very welcome. We look forward to sharing our plans for the 2012 season.

London Senior Footballers

We would like to wish St. Joseph's player Mark McNulty and the rest of the London Senior panel all the very best as London enter the FBD Connacht GAA Senior League for the first ever time. Round 1 is Sligo IT v London this Saturday, 7 January, with Round 2, Sligo v London, on Sunday, 8 January.

Lotto News

The next draw will take place on Sunday, 15 January. The jackpot is a huge £1,550, which would make a great start to the New Year! Tickets are available from the usual outlets, or contact Joe on 07597 168298.

St. Joseph's v West London Wildcats Challenge Match

We are currently organising a challenge match to be held in the New Year against the West London Wildcats. The Wildcats were the 2011 London AFL Premier Champions and they are looking forward to the contest! If you are interested in playing, please let Shane McCauley know at the AGM on 15 January.

New Players

St. Joseph's is one of the oldest clubs within London GAA. We had a very successful year in 2011 under the management of ex-London and Clare footballer, Paul Hehir. We were the:

•·         2011 London Junior Champions;

•·         Division 2 (Intermediate) League finalists, having narrowly missed promotion to the Division 1 (Senior) League when we narrowly lost to the 2011 London Senior Champions;    Mallarkey Cup runners-up.

Everyone within the club is committed to making a big push to ensure continued footballing success in 2012. We look forward to successful campaigns in the Intermediate Championship and League and will push for promotion from the Intermediate grade, along with the two Intermediate Cup competitions within London GAA. New players are always very welcome to join our friendly club. We are based in West London; the club covers a wide area and current players live in many different areas, including Ealing, Fulham, Greenford and Ruislip. We have players from all over Ireland, along with some English born lads. Currently, we have representatives from over 16 different counties in Ireland and any new player will feel at home when they join. We can arrange for transport to and from our training ground and pick-up from stations, if required. If you would like to join the club and play Intermediate Championship and League football in 2012, please do not hesitate to contact us on the club mobile: +44 (0)7597 168298, or via any of our contact details below. We would be delighted to hear from you.

Is mise, le meas
