Training continues as usual for all teams.

Our camogs travelled up to Birmingham on Saturday to kick off the Mixed League. They were drawn in a group with Fullen Gaels of Manchester and John Mitchels of Birmingham. They lost their opening game against Fullen Gaels but did themselves proud in the second and came away with a win against John Mitchels.

The Hurling fixture down to be played on Saturday afternoon was refixed for Thursday 10th May in Goodmayes.

The Mens footballers played the final group game of the Murphy Cup against St Joes on Sunday in Goodmayes. They came away with a good win and pending the result of an outstanding fixture between St Brendans and St Joes down for decision on Tuesday look to have secured a semi final place.

The U-15 footballers kick off their season against Tir Chonaill Gaels in Goodmayes on Tuesday evening.

Next weekend we will be hosting a mixed-gender / mixed-ability 7-a-side tournament in Goodmayes. The afternoon will kick off from 2.00pm. There will be bar refreshments available on the day, with a medal presentation and party in The Victoria Pub, Romford afterwards. All are welcome to attend.

Finally best of luck to the London Senior Footballers on Sunday against Sligo in the first round of the Connacht Championship.

Camogie:

Our camogs got their league campaign underway with a trip to Birmingham on Saturday. They started with a game against Fullen Gaels (Manchester) and were unlucky to come out on the wrong side of a 1-02 to 0-09 scoreline despite some great play and a Kelly Ann Brennan goal. Their second game was against John Mitchels (Birmingham). Three Aoife Kelly goals, a point from Amy Walsh and some excellent defending from Orla Dennehy, Andrea Brogan and Kelly Ann Brennan gave McCurtains the platform to win the game 3-02 to 0-05. Next up is the second round on the 12th May in Manchester.
