Previous Match:

Harlesden Harps began their 2018 season when they overcame the challenge of Neasden Gaels in the Intermediate Championship preliminary round. The game proved a good workout for the team with some good patches of football played on a sticky pitch. With Ben O Mahoney and Danny Somers controlling midfield, goals from Neil Horan, Ashley O Halloran and Darren Murphy kept the scoreboard ticking over for a final score of Harps 3-13 Neasden Gaels 0-12. A positive start to the year as the Harps will hope to go one step further in 2018 than last years journey.

Training:

For this week only, training (on a 3G pitch) is on Tuesday at 7:30pm and on Thursday at 7:00pm in The Pavilion, Hillside, Stonebridge, NW10 8LW. The venue is a short walk from Harlesden Tube Station. Any new players wishing to "play a bit a ball" are very welcome to come along to this well-run club. If needed we can offer good jobs, along with accommodation and a social life to our members. Transport to and from training and pick up from local stations can also be arranged.

As usual, check public transport is in use and for any likely traffic delays, etc and make sure everyone is at the venue nice and early for a proper preparation.

Martin O Sullivan:

As most of you will have heard club stalwart, Martin O Sullivan, suffered significant injuries in a car crash last August in Co Louth. Martin is recovering well from his injuries with some nice pieces recently about him in various newspapers: http://www.theirishworld.com/inspiring-gaelic-footballers-unbreakable-spirit/

http://irishpost.co.uk/crowdfund-set-london-irish-gaa-man-leg-amputated-serious-road-crash-ireland-last-august/

As mentioned in the articles a crowdfunding page has been set up for him to assist in his recovery, if you wish to donate please visit the following link: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/gearoid-orothlain
