It was a great day of action in Goodmayes on Saturday. The Ladies Footballers had a fantastic win against Tir Chonaill Gaels in the morning. Going into the final five minutes four points in arrears they never gave up and dug deep to score 1-02 without reply and win by the minimum.

Next up were the Mens Footballers against Eire Og. A goal from Johnny Winters in the first minute gave McCurtains a great platform to build on in the first half but Eire Og battled back and scored a goal of their own to lead by two at the break. McCurtains pressed on the attack at the start of the second half and regained the lead courtesy of a Tom Clarke goal. But that was the best it was going to get as a bad injury to Clarke forced him off and Eire Og hit back and took control of the game in the closing stages to run out winners in the end.

The Hurlers then played a challenge against CuChulainns. A very entertaining match saw CuChulainns dominate the first half. Trailing by a couple of goals at half time the Macs rallied well in the second and scored 1-10 without reply to see out the game. It was a great effort by all teams involved and we look forward to the year ahead.
