A resounding victory for the Senior Men against Neasden Gaels ensured Senior football next season. Â At half time the score line was heading towards a victory at 3-05 to 0-04. Â With all players knowing that a win was vital, another goal and more points were added, final score 4-11 to 1-09.Â
The U16 team were unlucky on Saturday when St Kiernans won the Championship. Â The tables were turned after a victory to Parnells in the League a couple of weeks ago. Â Two very talented teams battled it out displaying skill, heart and determination. Â Although Parnells led at half time, it was a narrow lead of two points but at the start of the second half St Kiernans made a comeback scoring several points and Parnells were struggling to capitalise on any possession they had. Â However they closed the gap to two points and were not giving up. Â Nail biting stuff in the last few minutes on both side lines but St Kiernans kept their lead and at the final whistle won 2-08 to 0-11. Â Our young players (many U15) can be extremely proud of themselves and how they played.
Training:  Training is ongoing for the Senior team and U18’s until matches are completed. The season’s final game for the Youth, is on 4th November, when Parnells play in the Championship Final (opponents’ tbc after semi).Â
Parnells Youth would like to congratulate the winner, Eamon Lynam, of our ‘Race for Sam’ competition.
Next Youth Meeting to take place at on the 10th October 8pm at The Green Man in Kingsbury.
