Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes – Monday 14th August 2017

Match Results

Congratulations to Lloyd Colfer and everyone involved with our Senior Team as they recorded a solid win in the opening Round of the City Jet Senior Football Championship in Greenford on Sunday Afternoon. An even first half that ebbed and flowed saw the Gaels eventually get on top thanks to a Killian Butler goal to send the lads in ahead at half time on a score of 1-06 to 0-6.

Further dominance in the 2nd half and another goal from that man Killian Butler saw Parnells go all out to get back into the game, resulted in quick breakaway attacks from the Gaels, one of which give rise to a 3rd goal courtesy of wing forward Kevin Rafferty. This put the Gaels comfortably in control and put them on their way to seeing out the rest of the game. Best on the day for the Gaels were Killian Butler and John McGrath.

Final Score: TCG Seniors 3-14 Parnells 0-08

Fixture News

The focus turns back to Paul Coggins and our Junior Team as they represent the Club in our first outing at the newly developed McGovern Park in Ruislip and look to build on Round 1’s Championship victory.

The Club would like to pass on its well wishes to long-time Gael Brian Collins as he moves onto pastures new to work in Germany, we wish him all the best.

Club Reunion Oct ‘17

We will host a reunion on Saturday 28th October for the teams from the early 90’s era. The 1992 Championship winning team will be honoured on what will be the 25th anniversary of that victory. This is an open invite and it will be great to see as many old and new faces as possible.
