Just to re cap on last week’s action which saw all age groups up to U14 playing.  Saturday 10/6, saw sunshine and plenty of football at the Go Games blitz hosted by Gael Londain in Sunbury-on-Thames.  A marvellous blitz, compliments to the hospitality of the hosts, where all teams played fantastically and also saw the U12 Boys secure their first silverware winning a cup v Warwickshire with a final score of 3-04 to 1-02.  The U12 Girls also did equally as well winning the Shield and beat St Kiernan’s in their final, solid teamwork with contributions from everyone on the field and outstanding displays of good quality football.  The U14’s played Tara in the first League final of the season.  These two teams always enjoy competitive games and this one was no different.  The first half was closely contested and both sides were drawing at half time.  However, Tara hit a purple patch hitting the back of the net in the final quarter.  They were very clinical and made the most of their scoring opportunities.  Congratulations to Tara GFC who won by 8-09 to 3-09.

On a beautiful Friday evening in East Lane, Sudbury, the U12’s took on Dulwich Harps in the League Semi-Final of Pool A.  To get to this stage was a great achievement, all the clubs in Pool A have had some terrific games during the season.  This was to be no different.  The boys started off really well and led for most of the first half.  Unfortunately Dulwich Harps finished the stronger team and Parnells lost by 2 points:  1-01 to 0-06.  Dulwich met Tara in the final and coincidently beat them by 2 points as well.  Congratulations to everyone involved.

The reserve game for the men against KKG is to be re arranged and this week the Senior team face NLS in the first Conway Cup game on the 20/6 at Northwick Park 7.15pm.  As the summer continues, training attendance has been fantastic, taking place at Northwick Park for the Seniors on Tuesday 7.30 – 9.00pm.  Always happy to welcome new players to an established and sociable club.  Please contact Senior Secretary Dennis Diggins on 07768352680.  Lifts can be arranged.

The U6/8/10 and U12 Girls have sessions on a Wednesday from 6.30-7.30/7.45pm.  U12 Boys-Thursday’s 6.30-7.45pm, U14’s-Tuesday 6.15-7.30pm, U16’s-Tuesday 6.30 – 7.45pm.  Minors linking up with the Seniors for their training sessions.  To attend any of the above training sessions contact Youth Club Secretary, Colin Corrigan on 07917729411 or Fiona Corrigan for the girls on 07940 568702.  A great response to the handing in of membership forms to date but there are still some outstanding, please ensure they are completed and passed to your manager as soon as possible.  The club’s new socks and shorts have arrived and will be distributed shortly to paid up members.

Good luck to London who face Carlow this weekend at McGovern Park, Ruislip.

The club would like to extend its deepest sympathies to all those families and the communities recently effected by the tragic fire and associated events which unfolded at Grenfell Tower in West London.  Our thoughts and prayers are with them all.  Trish O’Connor (club member) has been instrumental in enlisting support from club members, her friends and family in collecting and sorting out donations from the Harrow area.  A fantastic gesture and to be commended.
