London Youths Committee Notes

The next meeting London Youth Committee meeting will take place on Monday the 15th of May at 8.30pm at Emerald GAA Grounds, West End Road, Ruislip, HA4 6QX 


Darkness Into Light London Walk

Well done to all who participated in the 4th annual Darkness Into Light 5km walk/run which took place last Saturday at 4.15am with over 1,100 members of the London Irish community come together to raise awareness about suicide and self-harm. The walkers began their journey from the Clayton Crown Hotel hotel and then proceeded to Gladstone Park finishing up at the hotel for a breakfast roll.

 

Opening Cermony of the new grounds in Ruislip

London Youths Committee are delighted to be given the opportunity to have all Youth Clubs represented at the opening of the new grounds in Ruislip for the London v Leitrim Championship game on the 28th of May. Some of the U10's boys and U12's girls will play a mini display game at the interval of the big game and U12 players will be in their full club kit to be a flag Bearer for the opening cermony. A big thanks to London Senior Board for the opportunity to have our future Gaels involved in such a historicoccasion.  


North London U14 Féile Squad

North London U14 Féile Squad took part with a match at the 4th annual Berkeley Foundation GAA 7's tournament in association with The London GAA which took place last Saturday the 6th of May at Tir Chonaill GAA Grounds. A big thanks to one of London Youths sponsors Berkeley Homes for their kindness which will certainly help our youths here in London. Thanks to the management Barney Breen and Tony Griffin and Declan Ryan for their hard work involved in the preparation of the team for the John West Féile na nÓg which will be the weekend of the 23rd-25th of June 2017 where we wish both boys and the girls from North and South London teams the very best of luck. 


U16 London Development Squad 

Well done to all the U16 London Development Squad who travelled to play in a Blitz in Bimingham last Saturday. The boys done really well and enjoyed all three games played. Thanks to Lloyd Colfer and James Carry for hard work and committeemen with the squad.

Parnells Tournament

The very best of luck to all clubs who are participating at the Parnells Blitz this Sunday 14th May at Northwoick Park with games for U6//8/10's and U12 girls. Registration will be from 10am and throw-ins will be at 11am.


U-15 Gaelic Football Development Tournament

The very best of luck to London U-15 Gaelic Football Development Tournament which starts this Saturday in TCG Grounds, Matches will be continue to be played every Saturday evening in Greenford.


Gaelic Football/Hurling (Dual) Coaching Course

London G.A.A.are running a Gaelic Football/Hurling (Dual) Coaching Course for the members of London GAA in the next few weeks.The Gaelic Football and Hurling (Dual) Foundation Level Coaching Course on Saturday, May 20th in Tir Chonaill Gaels Grounds, Greenford.The Course is limited to 25 people and in the interest of fairness, we will only accept 5 nominations from each Club.The Courses will run from 9 am until 5 pm with a half an hour Lunch Break at 1 pm - lunch is provided.There will theory based work and practical work involved on the Course so coaches should bring appropriate training gear/footwear. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis so please contact Lloyd Colfer Community Development Administrator, 078 72600073 ASAP if you are interested in attending.Finally, we would urge as many of you as possible to please take up this opportunity to further your coaching education which can only benefit your Club and London GAA.
