The next meeting London Youth Committee meeting will take place on Monday the 17th of April at 8 30pm at Emerald GAA Grounds, West End Road, Ruislip, HA4 6QX

U17 Development League Final

Congratulations to Parnells who defeated St Kiernans in U17 Development League Final at Tir Chonaill Gaels last Saturday. It was a great match with Parnell leading by 2 points at half time. The final scoreline was Parnells 8-07 to St Kiernans 5-08. Thanks to Lloyd Colfer CDA who presented the Cup to Parnells Captain Luke Horgan.

Safeguarding Course

London GAA are organising two Safeguarding Course for all of our youth coaches/mentors/administrators involved with London GAA. First one Tuesday, April 18th which will run from 7pm - 10pm in Hazelwood, Sunbury-on-Thames (TW16 6 QU). Second on Wednesday, April 19th which will run from 7pm - 10pm. in the Claddagh Ring, Hendon (NW4 4EA).

Courses are limited to 20 people and in the interest of fairness only accept 5 nominations from each Club. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis so please contact Llyod Colfer 078 72600073 if you are interested in attending. Finally, under the new guidelines from the Provincial Council of Britain GAA, anyone involved with teams that have players under the age of 18 must be DBS certified, complete a Coaching Course and also, a Safeguarding Course so it is imperative that we get as many people as possible to attend these Courses over the coming weeks and months before the season starts as there will be a zero tolerance policy on this from the London County Board and the Provincial Council going forward.

Hurling Super Games Centre

A very successful Hurling Super Games Centre for the U6 - U18 was run for 6 weeks at Tir Chonaill Gaels in Greenford. Over 100 boys and girls attended over the period with an average of 60 each Saturday. The children were given the opportunity to learn and improve their hurling skills whilst playing in a safe and secure environment. Connacht Games Development Officer Damien Coleman attended the last session implementing his ideas and skills. The children showed great enjoyment and gained great experience and knowledge and understanding in the game therefore will help open up for future hurling for the children in our native sport in London. A big thanks to Lloyd Colfer, London Youths Chairman Tony Griffin, Coleen Lynott, James Carry, Mark Daly, John McDonagh, Mark Mythen, Kevin Murphy and London Youths PRO Lucia Butler. A big thanks to Tir Chonaill Gaels for the use of their grounds and thanks to the parents for their continued support.

Gaelic Football Coaching Course

London GAA Level One Gaelic Football Coaching Course will continue over 2 more Saturdays April 8th and 22nd - all of which will be in the Tir Chonaill Gaels Grounds, Greenford. Contact Lloyd Colfer CDA on 078 72600073
