Mens Section News
Parnells Men start their season next weekend when they will meet opponents in a seeding game for the championship. We wish the team well in their first game. Pre-season training continues at Whitmore School, Porlock Ave, Harrow Middx HA2 0AD. Meeting every Tuesday for the foreseeable future, 7.30pm meet at the pitch next to the school. Nearest tube is Harrow on the Hill. All new players welcome, please contact Dennis Diggins (07768 352680).
Forthcoming Events: Senior Club Committee Meeting Wednesday 8th March 2017 at Buckley’s in Queensbury, 8.00pm. All club committee members to be in attendance. Club Trip to Kildare on the 8th and 9th April is also planned, more details to follow.
Youth Section News
The first club meeting of the season took place at the Green Man in Kingsbury on the 1st of March. Tony Griffin welcomed ‘new faces’ and plans were made for the season ahead. Information will be available to families soon about membership via email and dates for outdoor training for all age groups; likely to be w/c 27/3.
All our weekly training sessions are underway: Cedars Youth & Community Centre, HA3 6QH. Training every Friday from 6 - 7 pm and will run until Friday 31st March. Cost is £3 per night. Open to all ages and abilities from Reception to Y6. Indoor and Outdoor facilities are being used. It was noted at the meeting that the turn out for these sessions has been fantastic with numbers of 50 upwards. Indoor training for Under 12 Girls at Salvatorian College HA3 5DY on Wednesday’s, training from 6.30 - 7.30 pm ending on 30th March. Strength and Conditioning at Salvatorian College HA3 5DY on Thursday’s. Training will finish on 23rd March. U12's from 6.30 pm - 7.30 pm Under 14s and older 7.30 - 8.30 pm. U16’s are preparing for the season and are training at Whitmore School every Tuesday 7.00 – 8.00pm. Anyone wishing to join these sessions should contact Colin Corrigan (07917 729411). The U17 team participating in the London u17 Development League played a combination team from St Clarets/NLS/TCG and had an important win 2-18 to 2-4. Next game is the 11/3 v Dulwich Harps.
A total of £1,045.00 was raised at the recent Dinner Dance for Kevin Kelly Fund. A cheque is planned to be presented at the London Youth Meeting on the 20th March at Ruislip. Thank you to all guests at the function for their contributions. ‘Race for Sam & Liam’- Entries by envelope (available soon from committee members), £10 ea. with a cash prize of £500. Information being sent this week to families travelling on the club trip to Oughterard, Co Galway taking place from the 30/4 – 1/5 2017. Please action the documentation asap. Next Youth meeting is scheduled for the 29th of March 7.30pm at The Green Man in Kingsbury. Full attendance by committee and managers please.
