PRO Club Notes Parnells  GAA 26.2.2017


Mens Section News

Parnells Men are looking forward to the start of this season with great optimism.  An extremely well attended players meeting was recently held at the Green Man in Kingsbury on the 20th February.  The meeting was led by the new manager, Tommy Ryan.  Tommy hails from Donegal and is a former Senior All Ireland Medal winner.  Also in attendance was Damien Holland, the trainer for this season.  Pre-season training has already commenced at Whitmore School, Porlock Ave, Harrow Middx HA2 0AD.  Meeting every Tuesday for the foreseeable future, 7.30pm meet at the pitch next to the school.  Nearest tube is Harrow on the Hill. All new players welcome, please contact Dennis Diggins (07768 352680)

Forthcoming Events:  Senior Club Committee Meeting Wednesday 8th March 2017 at Buckley’s in Queensbury, 8.00pm.  All club committee members to be in attendance.  Club Trip to Kildare on the 8th and 9th April is also planned, more details to follow. 


Youth Section News

All or weekly training sessions are underway and reminders are as follows.  Cedars Youth & Community Centre, HA3 6QH. Training every Friday from 6 - 7 pm and will run until Friday 31st March. Cost is £3 per night. Open to all ages and abilities from Reception to Y6. Indoor and Outdoor facilities are being used.  Indoor training for Under 12 Girls at Salvatorian College HA3 5DY on Wednesday’s, training from 6.30 - 7.30 pm ending on 30th March. Strength and Conditioning at Salvatorian College HA3 5DY on Thursday’s. Training will finish on 23rd March. U12's from 6.30 pm - 7.30 pm Under 14s and older 7.30 - 8.30 pm.  U16’s are preparing for the season and are training at Whitmore School every Tuesday 7.00 – 8.00pm.  Anyone wishing to join these sessions should contact Colin Corrigan (07917 729411).

A substantial amount of money was raised at the recent Dinner Dance for Kevin Kelly.  More details to follow.  The youth section is due to launch one of its main fund raisers for the season, the ‘Race for Sam & Liam’.  Entries by envelope, £10 ea. with a cash prize of £500.  Envelopes available from all committee members.   

Forthcoming Events:  The first youth meeting is scheduled for the 1st of March 8.00pm at The Green Man in Kingsbury. Full attendance by committee and managers please.
