Andy Duffy Memorial Day – Saturday 5th November
This month marks the 10th anniversary of the passing of our former chairman, Andy Duffy. Greatly missed, Andy had a remarkable impact on the club and helped everyone in any way he could. The club are holding a memorial day on Saturday the 5th of November with a mass in the clubhouse at 1pm followed by a challenge between TCG Juniors and TCG Seniors. We also welcome former players to tog out. Refreshments will follow in the clubhouse, and we look forward to seeing you on the day.
Seniors
Congratulations to Tir Chonaill Gaels who made it through to a fifth consecutive London Senior Football Championship Final after beating Parnells 0-12 to 1-06 at Greenford on Sunday. A great achievement for Lloyd and his management team, and we look forward to meeting St. Kiernan’s again in two weeks’ time in the final.
Ladies
TCG kicked off their league games with a battle against St. Anthony's in Greenford on Saturday morning. St. Anthony's being the stronger team in the first half the Gaels went into the second with a much better performance. Great performances from Jess O'Leary, Charlotte McEleney, Maura Byrne, Breda Kennedy & Denise Doherty secured the Gaels three quick goals in the space of five minutes. The ladies struggled to pull back St Anthony's lead from the first half and ended up second place on the day. Next game is against Dulwich Harps on the 22nd October, all support is welcome.
TCG Golf Day
The annual TCG Golf Day took place at South Herts on Friday with a full complement of teams taking part. A number of former and current club players & legends took part and were amongst the prizes too including Brian McBrearty, JP O’Donnell and Seamus Carr who also claimed a coveted trophy! A huge thanks to everyone who supported the event and to club chairman Tom Mohan for organising.
