Thomas McCurtains GAA Club Notes.

This weekend Thomas McCurtains will host their annual Family Fun Day from 11:00 at Goodmayes. There is a plethora of sporting action, entertainment and events with an underage Hurling and Football blitz kicking off the action the morning, while the Mens and Ladies Footballers and the Hurlers will play matches in the afternoon. There will also be plenty food and drink on offer throughout the day complimented by Irish dancing and music from international DJ Jeannette. There will also be a raffle on the day to support our Minor Club. First Prize is a pair of flights to New York from Heathrow (via Dublin). 

All are welcome to attend and it promises to be a great day full of ceoil agus craic.

Hard luck to Gavin O'Flatherty, Richard Ellis, Philip Murphy, Kevin Delahunty and Mark Gilsenen They were on the London Junior County Panel who narrowly lost to Lancashire in the Provincial Junior Football Championship Final in Birmingham. Good Luck to Lancashire who play Kerry in the Junior All-Ireland Semi Final.

Camogie:

Result: British Camogie Championship: Thomas McCurtains: 1-05, Brothers Pearse: 1-03

The Camogs remain undefeated in the Championship with a win against London rivals Brothers Pearse in Goodmayes. A much closer match than previous outings, the hosts battled hard to win.

Next up for the Camogs is the Semi-Final of the British Championship on Saturday in Greenford against Erin go Bragh. All support welcome.

Hurling:

Results: Intermediate Hurling League: Thomas McCurtains: 9-28, Kilburn Gaels B: 3-07

Intermediate Hurling Championship: Thomas McCurtains: 7-18, Robert Emmetts B: 0-07

The Hurlers had two comprehensive victories over the past week, beating Kilburn Gaels B in the league on Tuesday followed by a win over Robert Emmetts B in the first round of the championship on Sunday. The lads were always in control of these games with a great team performances throughout. Next up they take on St Declans on Saturday in Goodmayes.

Training continues this week on Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 pm in Goodmayes pitch (IG3 8XJ). All new players are welcome.

Mens Football:

The footballers will have to wait for their first championship outing as their fixture on tuesday has been postponed to a later date. They wont have to wait too long as they will host Tir Chonaill Gaels Juniors on Saturday

Training continues this week on Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 pm in Goodmayes pitch (IG3 8XJ). All new players are welcome.

Ladies Football:

The Ladies train on Tuesday in Goodmayes pitch (IG3 8XJ) at 7pm and on Thursdays in East London Rugby Club (E15 3BP) at 7pm. All new players welcome.

Their next match is on Saturday against Kingdom Kerry Gaels in the Senior League.

Underage:

Hurling: U8 to U14  training is on Mondays at 7.00pm in Goodmayes pitch.

Football: U8 to U14 training is on Wednesdays at 7.00pm in Goodmayes pitch.

New Players:

New players are always very welcome to join our friendly club. We have Gaelic Football & Hurling teams for both men and ladies from u-8s up to Adults. We are based in East London; the club covers a wide area and current players live in many different areas, including, Gants Hill, Woodford, Leyton, Leytonstone, Stratford, Romford, Dagenham, Brentwood & Chelmsford as well as many other areas. Transport to and from training and pick-up from stations can be arranged, if required.
