Holloway club notes 9th May 2016

1st round London Intermediate Championship

Last Sunday 9th May, Holloway Gaels kicked off their 2016 London Intermediate Championship campaign with a win over reigning champions Fulham Irish on a scoreline of 4-10 to 3.5. The Gaels started with great intensity and pace which never let up throughout the game. Fulham did not relent but the Holloway defence proved too strong and the Holloway midfield and forwards continued to break forward for some fantastic scores. Next up for Holloway is Fr.Murphys in the 2nd round of the Intermediate Championship on Sunday 22nd May in Scrubs at 12.30pm – all support welcome.

Pre-season Munich trip

On Friday 22nd April, Holloway Gaels set off to Munich as part of their annual pre-season trip. 27 girls from the club travelled and a fantastic weekend was had by all. A tournament featuring two Holloway teams (Spurs and Arsenal) and a team from St. Colmcilles Munich played an 11-a-side competition with Holloway team Spurs running out eventual winners. A massive thank you must go to St. Colmcilles of Munich, in particular former Holloway Gael Sinead Gordon, for hosting us and for the invite to Germany. A special thank you must also go to Hannah Fahey, Sorcha Durrant, Patrica McCarthy and Sylvia O’Sullivan for organising the trip, and to Ciara Holland for providing the entertainment for the weekend.

Gaelic 4 Girls returns for Summer 2016

Holloway Gaels are proud to be associated with the Gaelic4Girls program being run by North London Shamrocks. The launch day was on Saturday 30th April and there were 14 girls in attendance. The program officially runs from next week Saturday 7th May for 8 weeks. It runs from 1-2pm on Saturdays at Tottenhall Sports Ground, N13 6LH until 25th June.  For more information please see our website www.holllowaygaels.org or contactEoin Hourigan on 07740 950 42, email: Hourigan.eoin@gmail.com.
