Previous Fixture – Murphy Cup Semi-Final

The lads continued their defence of the Murphy Cup on Sunday past v Neasden in the semi-final of the Murphy Cup.

In blustery conditions at Ruislip the Joes stormed into the early lead and were 1-03 to 0-1 up after 15minutes. The lads continued their dominance for the remainder of the half and were unlucky not to take a greater lead into the half time break, thanks to a few fine saves from the Neasden keeper.

HT score 1-07 to 0-2

Neasden came out all guns blazing in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Making use of their physicality they registered two quick points without reply and were unlucky not to get a goal thanks to some smart goalkeeping. However the Joes rallied and kicked a number of scores to put them in a comfortable position. Neasden kicked a few consolation points before the Joes tagged on one more, to leave a final score line of 2-11 to 0-6.

Scorers for the Joes on the day were Thomas Faye 0-4, Pierce McGirr 1-0, David McDonagh 0-1, Eamonn McGovern 1-1, James Gartlan 0-2, Niall McAlynn 0-2, and Tom McGahern 0-1.

A tough physical game which will stand to the lads ahead of next Saturday's Murphy cup final v Harlesden.
