Eire Og Club notes w/b 7/3/16

The club played its first competitive game of the season on Saturday last against Tara at Tottenhal Sports Ground. In what was a close affair throughout Tara ran out 1-8 to 1-4 winners. Stand out performers for Eire Og were debutant John Ross and veterans Nigel Drew and Brian Digney. The clubs wishes a speedy response to senior player Sean McGrath who suffered a facial injury during the game. This weekend the club will travel south to play Brighton and Crawley Gaels.

Pre-season training continues every Tuesday and Saturday. Training on Tuesday takes place at New River Sports and Fitness, N22 5QW and at Highgate Wood School, N8 8RN on Saturdays.

The club held its annual presentation night last Saturday night in the Maynard. The award winners on the night were: Player of the Year – John Bradley, Most improved player – Peter Sweeney, Clubperson of the Year – Harry Murray, Is Fi agus Feidir – Patrick Reynolds. The club would like to attend everyone who attended and also the Maynard for its magnificent hospitality.

New players are always very welcome to join our friendly club. If you are moving to London we can assist new players with accommodation and employment.

We are based in North London and have our own pitch and clubhouse. The club covers a wide catchment area for players and includes; North, East and Central London, the city of London and Westminster, boroughs of Islington, Camden, Haringey, Kilburn, Hackney, along with many other areas.
