The next meeting London Youth Committee meeting will take place on Monday the 18th of April 2016 at 8 30pm at Irish Tv GAA Grounds, West End Road, Ruislip, HA4 6QX Can all the Hurling Clubs please attend the meeting beforehand at 8pm sharp.

London Youths Committee would like to wish all our Clubs, players,  supporters, parishioners, and everyone involved with London GAA a very Happy and blessed peaceful and safe Easter.


Sympathies

London Youths Committee would like to sympathies with the families of Nealie Canty (Vincent McCarthy Uncle TCG), Hannah Logan Parnells and Granuaille, Brian Murphy St Gabriels. May their gentle souls rest in peace.

Safeguarding Course

Well done to all 25 people who attended the recent Safeguarding Course in Ruislip


London GAA Year 5 School's Tournament 

Llyod Colfer London’s CDA run a successful Y5 mixed boys/girls Schools tournament last Thursday the 22nd of March in Greenford on behalf of London GAA and Provincial Council. It was a glorious sunny day with a great turnout with 14 schools in attendance with 21 teams in total who participated in the tournament. St John's in Rickmansworth, Downe Manor in Northolt, St Monica's in Enfield, St Raphael's in Northolt, Aldersbrook in Wanstead, Our Lady of Visitation in Greenford, St Vincent's in Mill Hill, St Robert Southwell in Kingsbury, St Dominic Salvio in Reading, St Bernadette's in Kenton, St Teresa's in Harrow Weald, St John Fisher in Pinner, Wood End Academy in Greenford, Ravenor in Greenford . A big thanks to all the teachers/Coaches for travelling with the children, given them the opportunities to learn and demonstrate skills needed in playing Gaelic Football. A big thanks to all the Referees and also to Tir Chonaill Gaels Club for the kind use of their grounds.


Secondary Schools Tournament FOR Y7/8

CDA Lloyd Colfer run a very successful Year 7/8 Schools Tournament for boys and girls in Greenford on Wednesday the 23rd of March on behalf of London GAA and Provincial Council. Five schools participated with 6 teams Sion Manning School in Ladbrook Grove, Capital City Academy in Willesden, Cardinal Wiseman School in Greenford, Douay Martyrs School in Ickenham, St Pauls Academy South East London. A big thanks to the referees Joe Roberts, Michaela Kilkenny, Coleen Lynott, Thomas Murphy, Paddy Curtin and to Tir Chonaill Gaels for the use of their grounds.


Club Leadership Development Programme for Club Officers

The GAA's National Officer Development Committee is delighted to confirm details of the Club Leadership Development Programme (CLDP) that will take place in Irish TV GAA Grounds, West End Road, South Ruislip, London, HA4 6QXR, London on the 9th of April with Induction at 12 noon and finishing at 4.30pm. The CLDP -  is an exciting new training programme which will provide club officers with the key knowledge and skills to carry out their roles effectively. The programme represents a new interactive approach to officer training which involves a lot of discussions, case studies and group activities. Officers who complete the programme will:

- Gain a better understanding of what their role involves

- Develop basic leadership, management and communication skills

- Experience increased role satisfaction

- Have an awareness of where to access resources and supports

- Be able to share ideas and solve problems with fellow officers

- Be better prepared for future roles in the Association

- Get an online certificate for their learning

Hurling for the youths

London GAA will host a Hurling Super Centre for boys/girls in Greenford on Saturday the 30th of April at 12 Noon. All children are invited to attend wearing appropriate clothing and if you have any hurling equipment please bring it along with you. Some equipment will be provided for those who don't have any on the day.. This is a wonderful sport to get involved in and of course great social skills in meeting new people. 100th Centenary Year of the 1916 Rising Commemorations

Please keep the weekend of the Saturday the 30th of April to Monday the 1st of May free as London GAA will be commemorating the 100th Centenary Year of the 1916 Rising with lots of Hurling/football Ceoil agus Craic to be enjoyed by all family and friends.
